** I am so sorry for my “poppy” audio, I made the mistake of doing something new and different this time, I held my mic closer to my mouth which was apparently a bad idea (and also unnecessary). Anyhoooo ….as a recap- this podcast turns THREE YEARS OLD this month! That’s right, this weekend I head to Gravel Worlds and it was there in 2018 that I launched this show for the first time! Incredible how time flies, especially with 2020 being such a strange one. So hey, let’s get to it!
Today’s guest is Micah Ling! Micah is a contagious, smiling, positive, laid back, high-on-life, wicked smahhhht and interesting, fun gal and I’m thrilled to bring her to your ear drums!
She is tacking an awesome 2021 goal of nailing all of the rides/runs/hikes in this magical map that she talks about on the show and describes in more detail at her blog HERE. This began last fall when Micah and her husband moved to Salida and she decided to really explore and get to know her new backyard. She shared the lessons and tips she’s learned on her adventures, and how important it is to respect Mother Nature and to prepare properly for these adventures.
Micah and I most recently enjoyed 110 miles of road and gravel together when we rode in a 4-woman team for the Rapha Prestige Aspen event. Read more about that HERE. Micah was a CRUSHER out there, for someone so new to cycling, she is absolutely excelling in cycling and it is further proof that her balance mentioned in this interview, really works. Some days she hikes 14ers, some days she runs with her dog, some days she rides easy, or goes long, and some days it’s a swim — the way she’s been riding it clearly shows that balance and listening to one’s body really works!
