2025 ROSTER:

Megan is newer to MTB after a lifetime on the road but thanks to her teammates, she’s improving!

Megan Hottman: Megan is the Squad Founder and Director, and she is STOKED to call these amazing women teammates and friends (and to call Jacob her partner in all things). From 2006-2021, Megan ran various cycling and multi-sport teams, spanning from small and beginner-oriented, to large, multi-state, and pro-elite level…. after taking the team director hat off for a few years, she’s ready to run a small but mighty squad once again. The mission of this squad and the reason for its inception is two-fold: first, Megan craved a community of similarly-minded women to ride, run, train and hang with— aka supportive and uplifting women, who are also committed to bringing to the stoke to their respective sports and endeavors. Second, Megan has always felt called to do what she can to bring more women into these sports, (especially cycling, which can seem intimidating and overwhelming to a newcomer).

Megan comes from over 20 years of bike racing across all disciplines (road, track, CX, MTB, gravel, fat bike), as well as some multi-sport experience in marathons and triathlon, including Ironman Triathlons. She hopes to share what she’s learned with her teammates as well as to learn from them in their areas of expertise! Follow Megan on the ‘gram HERE.

Kim shredded it during Xterra Worlds in Italy!

Kim Smith: Hi, I'm Kim Smith! I'm 39, living in the beautiful town of Salida, CO, with my husband and two of our kids (our oldest of our three is off on a college adventure). I wear a few hats: I'm a CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting coach; I have the joy of being the team director & volunteer coach for Salida Racing, our local high school mountain bike team; and, I’m also co-owner of Dark Horse Marketing, a digital marketing agency that specializes in lifestyle hospitality. As a kid, I was a national-level competitive swimmer, and over the years, I’ve dabbled in everything from running and Spartan Obstacle Racing to CrossFit and mountain biking. All of these experiences have helped me discover two of my biggest passions—cycling and Olympic weightlifting. Lifelong athlete that I am, I recently rekindled my love for competitive racing, inspired by coaching the high school team. I’ve also found a new and fun challenge in Xterra off-road triathlons, which led to competing in the USA Championships and even qualifying for Worlds in 2024!

For me, racing isn't about being the best out there—it's about showing up as the best version of yourself, alongside others that are doing the same. I really, really love racing… it’s an absolute blast!

April goes FULL SEND!

April Lee: Mom, Wife, Nurse, MTB coach, Enduro Racer, Nature Lover! When she’s not coaching, free riding, or racing, April is found traveling the world and seeking out new adventures. She is happiest on a saddle, trekking in her worn-out hikers, running 5K's, or in the ocean with a regulator in her mouth.  At home, she will have a book in her hand, a fluffy grey cat on her lap, and a steaming coffee next to her. (Side note, she SENDS IT!).

Lindsey Herman: Lindsey is an elite trail runner recently turned dual sport athlete with the addition of gravel biking due to health issues that might just end up being her secret weapon to athletic success! She is a running coach through her own business Running Wild, where she works with athletes of all abilities who have big dreams in athletics and in the rest of life too. She is especially passionate about coaching athletes with eating disorder histories and/or bone health challenges and is helping lead the charge in coaching athletes as full humans, with projects on the way that provide access to eating disorder treatment for high level athletes. Lindsey's life mission is to compete at the highest level in athletics with hopes of elevating others in the process and letting people know, most of all, that they matter. Follow Lindsey on the ‘gram HERE.

Whitney is up to some REALLY cool stuff-click on the SEND logo below to learn more!

Whitney Kailos Taylor: With over 15 years in endurance sports and a competitive background in triathlon, Whitney has experienced firsthand how training can transform not just the body but the spirit. After fracturing her pelvis during an 18-mile training run, she turned to strength training out of necessity to support her recovery and return to running. This journey taught her that endurance racing is about growth, not the podium—it's the joy of pushing limits and evolving. For Whitney, training is a source of empowerment and connection with an incredible community of women. Through her brand (and team sponsor!), SEND Women—Strength. Endurance. Nutrition. Daily—Whitney is on a mission to help women build strength, embrace their boldness, and tackle life, both on and off the race course. Follow Whitney on the ‘gram HERE.

We can’t wait to see Emily crush some enduro events in 2025!

Emily Price: Emily is an avid mountain biker who discovered her passion during the pandemic, transitioning from trail running to conquering single track on two wheels. After relocating to Salida, she found a supportive community of inspiring women who encouraged her to step out of her comfort zone and explore Enduro racing.

When she’s not biking, Emily loves adventuring in the mountains, traveling to new destinations, and spending quality time with her beloved fur baby.

Jacob has his sights set on more racing in 2025- and law school!

Jacob Denwalt (Token Male & Team Mechanic): Commonly known as “Jakeypoo” in the streets and on the trails, Jacob has had a life-long belief that the most important aspect of the bike is the smile it brings to your face. Upon his employment at Subculture Cyclery in 2019, he fully discovered his passion for bicycles, and his love of mountain biking grew even more as a result of the rides with his coworkers and friends. Quickly adopting the “We’ll make it happen” mentality of his peers, he will stop at nothing to keep as many butts on bikes as possible. Despite avidly riding for years, Jacob didn’t pin his first race number until September 2023 at the Banana Belt Mountain Bike Race. With a surprise finish on the second step of the podium, he discovered a hunger for competition he didn’t know he possessed. Seven bike races later, he raced and finished the extremely demanding Vapor Trail 125. Now that he has experienced a year of training and racing, he is excited to see what he’s capable of as his fitness and skill continue to improve. When he isn’t behind the handlebars or slinging wrenches, you will find Jacob playing the guitar or channeling his love to learn toward a law degree.
