Meet my friend Travis Macy! He is a FORCE, I tell you! From his website, he is a "Finisher of over 120 ultra endurance events in 17 countries, Travis Macy is a speaker, author, coach, and professional endurance athlete. He is the author of The Ultra Mindset: An Endurance Champion's 8 Core Principles for Success in Business, Sports, and Life, and he set a record (since broken) for Leadman, an epic endurance event consisting of a trail running marathon, 50-mile mountain bike race, Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race, 10k road run, and Leadville 100 Run, all above 10,200' in the Rocky Mountains."
Whew! And on top of all that, he's an amazing and REAL human.
On this episode, we talk about what it's like as we hard-charging, high-achieving athletes move from an era of aiming for podiums, to redefining what success looks and feels like as life takes on new meaning with its brevity and we employ gratitude in every workout or race just celebrating that we're alive, healthy, and still getting after it.
Travis has also written a 2nd book about his journey with his Dad and the Alzheimer's diagnosis and unfolding that has changed their family dynamic in big and heartbreaking ways. We talk about that, as well as Travis' approach to coaching and so much more.
Thanks for being here and giving this one a listen!
