What might be possible if you spent A Week In the Woods….?
INTEREST FORM for February 17-20, 2025 retreat HERE.
After doing what I call "intermittent van life" now for 4 years, every time I go somewhere where my cell phone doesn't work, and I spend days out there in nature untethered to blue screens, napping, reading, meditating, resting, even BEING BORED -- I come back a different/improved version of myself.
I want that for other people too; I think it can change us and save us in really meaningful ways.
Keep in mind-- I am NOT a lifelong camper! My family didn't camp and my entire adult life I saw myself as a "hotel girl." Yet I've truly come to appreciate being away from showers, makeup, blue screens, noise, hustle, rushing, and I love the feeling of exercise, sunshine and deep sleep out there in the Mother-Nature-goodness called open spaces, trees, dirt and weather.
I feel called to bring more folks into this restorative and healing way of being by hosting retreats in places where my phone hasn't worked, while providing simple yet healthy foods, a very supple/flexible agenda with lots of down time for resting, some recreation options including walking/hiking/trail running and MTB-ing/gravel riding (and even climbing).... and yes, some meditation and self-reflection.
4 ish days and 3 nights... and yes, they're on weekdays, on purpose! Do you know most Americans don't use up all of their vacation time?! Plus, I LOVE transition time from a vacation back into work, so this way you'll have a few days before the following Monday
Here's the details: it's camping. If you have a van or camper, great. If not, bring a tent, or car camp. Or borrow a friend's tent. You can even hang a hammock on some trees or sleep on the ground under the stars. You'll need to bring your own sleeping situation, whatever that is.
**For future retreats, I have partnered with a camper van company who will let us rent their fleet of vans for each guest to have for the trip -- STOKED!
You'll also need to bring your camping utensils like coffee mug, plate, bowl, silverware, cloth napkin, etc and we will do group dish washing each time we finish up a meal.
I will provide most of the main meal foods but ask that you bring your own snacks, drink mixes, foods you know you need to feel your best, extra water for your personal use, and a couple premade or dehydrated meals you can eat if I serve something that doesn't sound good to you. Maybe bring some treats or snacks to share as well, something you really love to buy or make that will work well NOT being in a fridge.
This is not glamping-- > this is seriously honest-to-goodness-camping. Like, No showers- plan to be a little stinky and sweaty, which is awesome honestly. Bring baby wipes etc as needed to wipe off. Vault toilets on site - bring some TP to have just in case.
AGENDA: I have a couple reading suggestions and a podcast I think you should listen to before you come. We'll have some group meditation and sharing sessions. Agenda is LOOSE and everything is optional; think sleeping in, coffee, some meals, some movement, meditation, group discussions, early bedtimes; if you come out and sleep the entire time because that's what your body and soul need I'll be STOKED about it. If you choose, there will also be trail runs, walks, hikes, MTB and gravel rides/routes you can do on your own or with others. I'll provide route offerings and other ideas. You can do it all totally alone to get good solo time or you can pair off in small groups, let things unfold organically and trust it will all be exactly what you need!
I’ll also be inviting some subject-matter experts to join us for some presentations, deep-dives, one:on:one work and more… imagine coming home from a vacation not just rested and refreshed, but more evolved, more self-aware, and more focused with clarity about who you are, what you’re up to in this lifetime, and where you’re headed next. Rad, right?!
SPOTS ON MY RETREATS ARE LIMITED: I am aiming for a group of 8 people, MAX.
Other FAQ:
*I will have my campervan and my dog along. You're welcome to bring your dog as long as they won't bark during quiet hours and they're good with other dogs. (must be leashed at all times).
**I have Verizon and have ZERO signal at the sites where I host retreats (yay!). I use a Garmin inreach satellite device to communicate with my loved ones. If you have another provider, there's a chance you may have a signal -but let's hope not! If you have starlink in your camper, please leave it home! And if you need a way to check in with loved ones, I am happy to let you send a couple texts each day from my inreach just so your fam knows you're ok. But plan to use your phone just for taking pics and otherwise, it'll be useless (and that is a WIN!).
**In case of cancellation due to weather -- let's say it looks REAL BAD that week, like snow- I will refund your money the week before....otherwise, plan on the trip happening come rain or shine.
Finally... if you want to add some fun to the weekend beforehand, I will provide some offerings going on in the area or other sights or features you may want to add before or after the retreat.
Have questions?? Email me. If you'd like to hop on a call to discuss and see if this is a good fit for you, I'm happy to!
